Our meetings are open to the members of the Lodge, and Masons who wish to visit. If you are a Freemason and would like to visit us on any occasion, please contact the Secretary for details.
Every regular meeting is followed by a formal dinner, known as the ‘Festive Board’, where members of the Lodge, their guests and visitors enjoy good food, quality wine and stimulating camaraderie.
Lodge of Instruction
The Lodge of Hope and Charity Lodge of Instruction provides the opportunity to rehearse the roles of the officers, under the guidance of more experienced Lodge members. The Lodge of Instruction is a place for Masonic education, where lectures are presented and guidance offered, with the aim of developing a greater understanding of Freemasonry. Membership of the Lodge of Instruction is open to Members of any masonic Lodge in the vicinity and those not yet Master Masons are welcome as Associate Members.
The Lodge of Instruction meets on the second Monday of the month, excluding August and December. The Lodge of Instruction opens at 7.30 pm.
Our Annual General Meeting and election of Officers is held in January.
Holy Royal Arch Chapter
The Lodge of Hope and Charity is very closely associated with the Holy Royal Arch, this being considered the completion of the “Master Mason” degree.
The Holy Royal Arch Chapter would welcome any Master Mason to make enquires as to membership of this fine old Chapter, which in the first instance should be made via our “Contact Us” form.
The Chapter of Hope and Charity No. 377, which was consecrated in 1871 has, like our Lodge, approximately 40 members and is considered a fine Royal Arch Chapter indeed!
The Chapter meets four times each year, on the Second Tuesday of the month from January, March, September and November. The Ceremony of Installation of the Principals takes place at our September meeting.
